Yin Yoga for Sleep Practicing yoga before bedtime is a terrific way to release everything you’re holding onto mentally or physically before sinking into a peaceful night of deep sleep.
About Yoga for Sleep

Yin yoga is a practice of deep embodiment, observation and re-patterning. The poses are experienced for a longer length of time (from three minutes upwards) allowing for gentle, lasting change to happen on a deep level both in the physical as well as the emotional and energetic body. Each pose is carefully sequenced and guided within the comfort limit of the practitioner who is always encouraged to honour their body, as such this is an accessible practice for all who attend and perfect for those who want to unwind from their day and enjoy a great nights sleep.

Given Yin Yoga is a nourishing, quieter and slower paced practice please have plenty of props to support you. Typically a bolster, Yoga blocks and blanket would be used but you can improvise with cushions, pillows, thick books and towels.

Meet the instructor Loren Barclay
Hi, my name is Loren and I am a passionate and dedicated yoga teacher with experience that spans for over a decade. My skills and drive to guide people to optimum health has led me to work with a range of clients including professional athletes, pre-post natal ladies, those with chronic health conditions, back problems and mental health issues to name a few. I teach Mindful Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga however elements of her classes are invariably influenced by my background in teaching Pilates and Fitness, anatomy training, professional dance and her education in various healing methods. I continuously challenge my understanding of science and holistic health to ensure that what I teach is honest and can be of maximum benefit to my clients.

Benefits of Yoga, a multicomponent exercise, include:

WHO recommends that people 65 years or older you should aim to do multicomponent exercise at least 3 times a week. If you are new to any exercise, start by doing small amounts and adjust how much you do based on your fitness and strength levels.
