Enjoy a great workout for the whole body aimed at promoting good posture, coordination, and concentration.   

Using ballet and jazz technique, this class will focus on a series of creative movements and exercises to music, building technique through the duration of the class.

“Hello, I’m Lindsay.  I am a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer, delighted to have the opportunity to share classical ballet techniques with you to improve your agility, stamina and energy levels.  Dance also helps you improve self-confidence and breathing technique, whilst being perfect for self-expression.  

My class will focus on a series of creative movements and exercises to music, building up technique through the duration of the class.  The format is suitable for all levels and abilities and lots of modifications will be given to suit your individual needs.  

I shall be basing my classes around classical ballet technique, allowing you to really enjoy moving your body in a moderate impact way.  My class is not only great for your physical body but your mental wellbeing too which I hope will leave you feeling uplifted and energised!”

Benefits of dancing, a varied multicomponent and cardiovascular exercise, include:

WHO recommends that people 65 years or older should aim to do multicomponent exercise at least 3 times a week. If you are new to any exercise, start by doing small amounts and adjust how much you do based on your fitness and strength levels.

Lindsay McAllister
Lindsay McAllister is a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer with many years of experience working in London, the UK and internationally on various productions. She holds a BA(Hons) degree in Dance and Theatre Performance from the prestigious Bird College and holds a teaching qualification in Modern and Tap from The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. She is a Level 2 Group Exercise Instructor and she is currently training as a Personal Trainer (level 3) and in British Sign Language (level 1). Her motivational motto comes from her father who has always encouraged and supported her to learn and expand her knowledge in all life’s pursuits: “Every day is a school day”.
